100 Years Theatre Duisburg
Music is in the air: the official inauguration of the jubilee weeks “100 years Theater Duisburg” will consist of an unprecedented classical open air concert presented by Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the Duisburg Philharmonic on the city’s finest open space, the Opernplatz in front of the imposing façade of the theatre. Under the open sky several thousand guests can experience free of charge a many-faceted programme ranging from classical opera to musical hits and film scores. The internationally renowned soloists of Deutsche Oper am Rhein will set the whole square under sound together with the Duisburg Philharmonic, the city’s biggest and most important orchestra for the last 135 years, conducted by their respective chief conductors Axel Kober and Giordano Bellincampi. The programme will include well-known, much loved arias and ensembles from operas by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini and Richard Wagner and film music by von John Williams. Admittance free!
