Wagner/Loriot: The Ring on one Evening

Duration: about 3,5 hours, one interval

100 Years Theatre Duisburg
Duration: about 3,5 hours, one interval
Wagner – and not boring? If you don’t believe it, you should treat yourself to Loriot’s „Ring on one Evening“. Instead of sixteen hours of a “world-theatre” marathon in four instalments you can learn in four hours everything you need to know about the theft of the Rhine gold, the ominous power of the Ring, sibling love, fathers and daughters, beefy children of nature and the imminent end of the world. Compressed with a wink in his eye, the humorist Loriot’s Ring version is an exclusive event in the festival programme “100 years Theater Duisburg”. Well-known Wagner interpreters of Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the Duisburg Philharmonic under Axel Kober supply the musical highlights, steered through the evening by the skittish and yet brilliant comments of the late Loriot, recited by actor Rudolf Kowalski.
